First annual fundraiser at Thomas Bartlett Estate
Our first annual fundraiser was a spectacular success. Over 190 people attended and supported Los Amigos de La Peņita with proceeds slightly over $173,000 pesos. The silent auction of 59 donated items grossed $81,300 pesos while other donations reached nearly $91,900 pesos.
Cleaning up the Estuary
  
At the Los Amigos de La Peņita meeting on January 28th it was reported that the Municipal President made a commitment to
help clean up the entire estuary with machines after February 8th.
Los Amigos continues to work with the schools to continue the "Clean Up" campaigns in La Peņita by implementing a new recycle
campaign to recycle plastic bottles that cause so much harm to our corner of Paradise.
Joining Forces
Guayabitos Homeowners Association and the Hotel Association are joining forces with Los Amigos de La Peņita to show a unified front in the request for better water/sewer and garbage service. Los Ayala and La Colonia will also be asked to join this group.
Danny and Roche from the Guayabitos Homeowners Association were guests at Los Amigos meeting on January 15.
How You Can Contribute to Los Amigos
- Submit a recipe for the Los Amigos Cookbook to be published in mid-March. Recipes can be in Spanish or English.
