SECURITY IN LA Peņita
The Issue
Los Amigos is advocating to prevent as much crime and drugs in our community as possible.
What's Being Done
Los Amigos is in the process of organizing a committee to meet with the local
police to see how we can help the police in this matter. Crime and drugs are not
major problems in La Peņita and La Peņita is a safe community in which to live,
so this should be an easy problem to overcome.
Home security to prevent break/entry should be a personal goal of every resident and should be solved be
each individual to meet their own needs. However, better street lighting should
be provided throughout the area to give a sense of security and safety.

Report from meeting held February 11, 2008
Gordon Schneider said there is no report at this time, but that the police telephone # 274-0926 in La Penita is now operational and the emergency dial # is 066
Report from meeting held January 15, 2008
While home security is considered a personal issue, we need proper street lighting and representatives from Los Amigos will meet with the local police to voice our concerns and how we can help the police address our concerns.
Report from meeting held November 26, 2007
Gord reported that a meeting of the Security Committee will be held in January, 2008, when he returns from Canada. The local police number is not in service but this will be investigated.
